The term “sus” is a shortened, informal version of the word “suspicious,” sharing the same meaning of causing one to have the idea or impression that someone or something is questionable, dishonest, or dangerous. Although it has been used much in the past, it has gained much more usage ever since the hit game “Among Us” gained popularity. The term “sus” is used by players in the game “Among Us” to show that the person who is described as “sus” has a likely possibility of being an “Impostor” in the game “Among Us.” As more and more people started playing “Among Us” they have started using the term “sus” in real life to describe people who are suspicious, mostly to those who have committed or said something sexual or something with a nuance of being sexual. In addition to using the word “sus” to described the aforementioned people, it may also be used to describe people who have committed or said something illegal or something with a nuance of being illegal, this typically correlates with sexual crimes, mostly child paedophilia.
